Tax Accountant
As a tax accountant, I have been an Enrolled Agent since April of 2019. As part of my duties as a tax accountant, I help my client develop a tax planning strategy that’s profitable for them, while at the. same time following the tax laws and regulations. This is done by advising them to either defer, lower, or even completely cut their tax payments.
Additionally, I produce accurate tax filings as well as work with individuals and businesses to report their financial data to the government. Of course, when preparing tax documents for my clients, I interpret the tax laws and explain it in a way my clients understand. Particularly if there have been any recent changes in the law. I am adept at listening to the concerns of my clients and helping them budget in a way that helps them meet their financial goals.
Bookkeeping/Payroll
As for bookkeeping and payroll, there are many tasks involved. Similarly to my tax accountant roll, I must also prepare source documents for all operations, and transactions that take place in a business. I also record financial transactions, such as payments made by individuals or businesses, as well as sales and purchases.
I process payrolls based on the frequency required, either weekly, biweekly, or monthly and then produce W2s and 1099s at the end of the year. Another duty of mine in this capacity is to complete and file the payroll quarterly tax returns. Additionally, in the area of payroll, I must also organize timesheets and enter the data for accurate payroll results.
Notary
As I have been an Ohio certified notary public since September of 2013, I am authorized by the state of Ohio to perform notary services in legal affairs, witnessing signatures on documents, and I am also able to process electronic notary services. As a notary, I am expected to know and honor the notary laws of Ohio. I will also explain my duties as a notary public to those who ask about them.
Additionally, there are some document transactions that require the signer to make a formal declaration in front of a notary acknowledging the signing of the document. In this instance, the signer must verbally acknowledge that the signer understands the contents and purpose of the document, that the signature on the document is their own, and that the document was signed willingly and without coercion.
